Dyneley Arms cross road traffic lights

A local resident contacted Councillor Barry Anderson expressing the following concern:

“I was the first car in the right filter lane at the Dyneley Arms Junction. I then saw what I thought were the lights turning green and inched forward only to be stopped by my passenger. It was in fact the traffic light for the road from Pool that had changed. Positioned on the right side of the road (from Pool) outside the entrance to the Dyneley Arms - it is positioned almost directly in the eye line of the driver waiting to turn right;

It is probably not a problem in daylight but at night the light is bright and can be clearly seen from the other direction. The solution is simple; either put a shield on one side of the light or rotate the lights by some 10-15 degrees. The lights do need to be observed at night.”

The Urban Traffic Management and Control manager responded on 2 February 2012,  he advised that tunnel’ hoods have been ordered, we hope they can be installed this weekend.  They should improve things for drivers.
